Home & Community Care

Receiving health care services at home or in the community makes it easier to maintain an independent lifestyle for as long as possible. Beacon Community Services, together with our partner the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), strives to provide the highest quality of care to members of our community.  Our emphasis is on allowing our clients to remain in the comfort of their homes and to maintain an independent lifestyle.  Offering consistent and effective care means clients can improve their health and quality of life, while family and caregivers can have peace of mind.

Beacon Community Services is VIHA’s fully-accredited home support partner for the Capital Regional District.  VIHA also offers a wide range of supports and care services, both directly and through other community partners. People with a disability, recovering from a surgery or hospital stay, or who need rehabilitation or therapy to stay at home, may be eligible to receive a wide-range of services at no charge or for a nominal fee.

In this section of Beacon Connects, the home health programs available through VIHA are outlined, including home support, and information on how to access these services.  Information about mental health and the invaluable health-related services provided by other organizations throughout the community are also provided.
